Minimaly is an independently operated software service (Minimaly, we, us, or our). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. If you use the Service for an organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to accept these Terms for it. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information. Questions about these Terms can be sent to legal@minimaly.io.
1. The Service
At the date of these Terms, Minimaly offers a landing-page waitlist and access to a browser-based shared notepad for technical interviews and collaboration. Accounts, additional interview-room features, notes, playback, and in-browser activity signals apply only if and when those features are actually made available to you. Product previews, screenshots, demonstrations, roadmaps, and waitlist descriptions are illustrative and are not a promise that a feature will be released or remain available.
The Service is evolving, and we may add, change, or remove features and limits. It is currently offered free of charge. We will not charge you unless we first show you the price and you expressly choose a paid plan.
Minimaly provides software only. We are not a recruiter, employer, employment agency, background-check provider, identity-verification service, or party to any hiring decision. The Service does not guarantee that a candidate is who they claim to be, detect every form of misconduct, establish legal compliance, or produce any particular hiring outcome.
2. Accounts and room access
You must provide accurate information, keep your account and sign-in method secure, and promptly report suspected unauthorised access to security@minimaly.io. Google and other third-party sign-in services are also governed by their own terms.
Room and host links act as access credentials. Anyone with a link may be able to enter a room or use host controls, so share links only with intended participants and do not publish them.
You must be at least 18 to create an account or host a room. Participants must be at least 16; anyone aged 16 or 17 may participate only with permission from a parent or legal guardian and the organiser.
3. Your content
You keep ownership of code, text, whiteboard material, files, feedback, and other content you submit. You give Minimaly a limited, non-exclusive licence to host, store, process, transmit, and display that content only as needed to operate, secure, and support the Service or comply with law. This licence ends when the content is deleted, except for copies we must retain for legal or security reasons.
You must have the right to submit and share your content. Other authorised room participants may view or copy it, so do not submit passwords, private keys, production data, or other information that should not be shared.
Minimaly does not use interview content to train general-purpose AI models.
4. Responsible use and interviews
You must not use the Service to:
- break the law or infringe intellectual-property, privacy, or confidentiality rights;
- harass, deceive, discriminate against, or unlawfully monitor another person;
- upload malware, steal credentials, gain unauthorised access, or bypass security or usage limits;
- disrupt, overload, scrape, reverse engineer, resell, or exploit the Service except where applicable law expressly permits it; or
- send spam or submit unlawful, harmful, or highly sensitive data without a valid reason and the required safeguards.
Interview rooms may create playback from shared content and log limited in-browser activity, such as focus or tab changes, pasted text, and typing patterns. These signals provide context only. They can be incomplete or inaccurate, do not prove misconduct, and must not be the sole basis for a hiring decision. An organiser must clearly inform participants, obtain any permission required by law, and use this information fairly. Minimaly does not make automated hiring decisions.
Report suspected abuse or unlawful use of the Service to abuse@minimaly.io. A notice about allegedly illegal content should identify the exact room, link, or other electronic location; explain why the specific content is alleged to be illegal; give the notifier's name and email address except where applicable law permits anonymity; and include a statement that the notice is submitted in the good-faith belief that its information is accurate and complete. Do not include unrelated personal or confidential information.
5. Availability and termination
The Service is provided on an as is and as available basis. We do not promise uninterrupted operation, permanent storage, or that every feature will remain available. Keep your own lawful copy of anything you need.
You may stop using the Service at any time and may request account deletion. We may restrict or end access when reasonably necessary to address a breach of these Terms, security or legal risk, abuse, or discontinuation of the Service. Where practical, we will give notice.
6. Disclaimers and liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Minimaly disclaims implied warranties and is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or business losses, or for loss of data, arising from use of the Service. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability or consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.
You are responsible for your use of the Service, your hiring decisions, and your compliance with employment, privacy, monitoring, accessibility, and other laws that apply to you.
For users acting in a business or professional capacity, and to the fullest extent permitted by law, Minimaly's total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Service in any 12-month period is limited to the greater of €100 and the amount that the user paid Minimaly for the Service during that period. This cap does not apply to fraud, wilful misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury, infringement for which liability cannot be limited, or any other liability that applicable law does not allow us to limit.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, a user acting in a business or professional capacity will indemnify Minimaly against third-party claims, losses, and reasonable costs caused by that user's unlawful content, unlawful instructions, breach of these Terms, failure to give required participant notices or obtain required permissions, or discriminatory or otherwise unlawful hiring decisions. This does not apply to the extent a claim was caused by Minimaly's own breach of these Terms or applicable law.
7. Changes and general terms
We may update these Terms as the Service or law changes. Changes apply prospectively from the stated effective date. We will provide additional notice for a material change where reasonably possible and will request affirmative acceptance where applicable law requires it. If you do not agree to updated Terms, you must stop using the Service before they take effect.
Neither party is liable for delay or failure caused by events beyond its reasonable control, except for payment obligations. These Terms, together with documents they expressly incorporate, are the entire agreement about the Service. A failure to enforce a term is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them as part of a reorganisation, financing, or transfer of the Service, subject to applicable law.
Consumers retain any mandatory rights and may bring claims in any court that has jurisdiction under applicable law. If part of these Terms is unenforceable, the remaining parts continue to apply.
